It is finger-print resistant and easy to clean.  The hinges enable the screen to be rotated all the way, converting the ThinkPad X1 yoga into a tablet within seconds. In that mode, the keys automatically retract and can’t be pressed. Its base unit is made of ‘super magnesium’ which makes it lighter, 1.27kg without compromising the stability.

The icing on the cake is its OLED screen. The latest 14-inch X1 Yoga adds an OLED display. It is actually one of the first ThinkPads with touch screen OLED.  It has the native resolution of 2560×1440 pixels (WQHD) with 16:9 aspect ratio. It results in a pixel density of 210 PPI making the presentation vivid and sharp. An additional glass layer on top of the screen gives a glossy display.  ThinkPad X1 Yoga is also available with a regular IPS-LCD, either with the same QHD or full HD resolution.

These displays are semi-matte. X1 Yoga has an automatic brightness control and fast dimming process with no backlight bleeding. Black on the X1 Yoga is simply rich, pure black along with overwhelming rich and vivid colors. Display has very good reaction time making it perfect for moving images like games, videos and movies. OLED has perfect viewing angles with no color inversions or significant changes in brightness. One note worthy effect, typical of OLED is a slight change of color temperature at extreme angles. The screen and the keyboard are adjusted by the ambient light sensors at the same time that works great.
